Quick Homemade BBQ Sauce (Plant-Based)
1 can (∼500ml) crushed tomatoes
1/3 (80 ml) cup apple cider vinegar
5 tbsp tomato paste
4 tbsp date syrup (/6 tbsp homemade syrup)
1 tbsp soy sauce
½ tsp smoked salt (liquid smoke)
1- To a blender or food processor add all ingredients.
2- Blend until smooth.
3- If you want to store this BBQ sauce for longer you need to simmer it on a stovetop for about 5 minutes.
Store the sauce in a jar with a lid for 2-3 weeks. Look out for my homemade date syrup recipe. The BBQ sauce tastes even better with my black bean & quinoa burgers.
